Anyone feel amazing?????

I don't know if its just me??? I had a LAVH on Friday afternoon (spent the night at hospital) and came home Saturday. I feel amazing - no pain - just a little tired at times I am resting and taking it easy - but did vacuum my bedroom this morning Honestly, I was expecting so much worse.
Am I alone here?? Did anyone or does anyone feel like they really didn't have surgery???

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

Hello ! It's really awesome that you're feeling so great!

Please be careful with how much activity you take on. The fact remains that you've had a major organ removed, along with major abdominal ligaments severed. You may not feel much discomfort inside, but there's still lots of healing that needs to take place. The last thing you want to do is tear something internally and set your progress spiralling downhill. You should check with your doctor before doing more than you've been given clearance for.

Best of luck with your recovery.

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

I felt great in week two! I thought I could go for a jog or run, I felt so good (I didn't!). Week three is a different story. I went to work for a day of light duty and the next day my incisions are very sore and I can't sit up without pain.

Remember that you have had MAJOR surgery and that you still may be feeling the effects of the anesthesia. Also, I vacuumed twice during the first 2 weeks and got in BIG trouble from my doctor at my post op appointment. He explained that not only did he remove a bunch of organs, but he had to suture multiple blood vessels, and those are very delicate and can be fairly easily separated, causing bleeding that requires another surgery. That made me stop doing stuff and relax! So I urge you not to do too much and follow your doctor's instructions to the "t".

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

I felt amazing for the first couples days but still took it easy. I feel decidedly less amazing now. I think the amazing feeling comes and goes.

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

I was actually told I could do all my normal activities - just no lifting Like I stated - I am definitely resting "a lot" - but overall - I do feel great

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

Honestly, I have felt great since day 1, today is 5. i really expected a lot worse. I'm still taking pain meds because I get really achy without it. I just keep thinking about how my insides still need rest to heal, so I have been taking it easy and doing nothing. Everyday feels like a Saturday afternoon :-)

Re: Anyone feel amazing?????

Maybe thats what it is? I expected soooo much worse? I reiterate I am taking it easy - other than a little light vacuuming today in my bedroom; I've been pretty 'mellow'. But I do feel really good - am starting to finally have regular BM's again I will send some healing vibes to everyone else too - I wish all you felt this way.
