Post Surgical Stomach Toning
My FAVORITE iitem was a natural heat pad (you can also make these with beans and spices, or quite a few stores have them now.) I would warm it in the micro and then it spent much of the day on my incision .... it just felt wonderful to me. That would be my one advice.
As far as other things to have on hand? I had books, although I didn't really do as much reading as I thought I would. I did write a lot of letters .... primarily thank yous! My husband wasn't home the second week, so a group of friends coordinated bringing in dinner for five nights, which was great. The bending and such -- even to get something out of the fridge -- was much harder than I anticipated. I really spent the first week doing a lot of sleeping and vegging out to movies. (I am not a tv person, so I did stock up on movies and borrowed some from friends....) By the end of the first week I was walking a couple times a day, and then sleeping much of the in between times.
It might sounds strange .... but it really was a peaceful time for me. Knowing I was taking care of my body and that it would then take care of me ....

Oh goodness, I can't imagine having anything HOT on my incision because it is already hot. What feels really good is one of those gel cool packs. Just keep it in the fridge and apply to cool the heat!
Perhaps we're all just different!
Take care,
Jackie

Jackie,
It was good to hear from you! I would like to hear how your surgery went. Any more pre and post surgical tips would be appreciated.
Gwen
