Hi

Now all of a sudden I can't fall asleep and when I do I wake up about 4 hours later and lay awake for an hour or two!! I go back to work next week and Im freaking out!!! Has this happened to anyone else? Ive probably tried every herbal/natural sleep remedy known and they are not working now!!
Id be grateful for any advice!! Great web site!! Its a lifesaver!!

Yes Dem, I had the same problem. It got the best of me at the 3 month mark. I went to my MD and got some Ambien and I also needed some help with depression. Now this wasn't the I'm sad depression. More like life held no interest, etc. Well after 1 month on those Rx's I felt alot better. And here I am at 4 1/2 months doing better all the time. Please ask your dr. for some extra help if you need it.

6 weeks post op, can't sleep!!!

YES! I'm having trouble sleeping, too! I had trouble the first week after the surgery - not falling to sleep until midnight or after and then waking up at 5AM. Then, of course, I'd be exhausted and go back to sleep around 9AM and sleep until 11! I was starting to get back into a decent sleep pattern and the past week or so, I've been having trouble again, staying awake until midnight, waking up again at 2 or 2:30 for an hour or so, and doing the whole go to sleep, wake up, go to sleep wake up thing over and over again all night! I started back to work Monday for a few hours a day and by noon, I am exhausted again! The doctor told me that being tired for several months is normal, but not being able to sleep should pass soon. I hope he's right!

LAVH for Adenomyosis, wonderful to not be in constant pain anymore and to not have 10 day, VERY heavy periods anymore!

Yes, I've been having the same problem. When I described the symptoms to my doc at my 6 week appt, she thought it sounded like my estrogen levels were off (I'm on the vivelle dot .01) and had me get a blood test. The test showed that my estrogen/estrodial level was too low, and has just upped my dosage on the patch. I am just picking up the Rx tonight, so don't know if its going to help or not. But just know, you're not alone, and you might consider talking to your doc.

I've had the same thing, about 4 weeks in, I had to do a little more during the day and get back on a regular sleep pattern until it eventually worked out but now I want to sleep all the time, I'm so tired since I started back to work! lol!! Your Dr. can give you a mild sleep aid or try an over the counter Tylenol PM if you can. Those work well.
Good luck!!

Thanks for your reply!! What are Rx's? Is Ambien sleep medication? Dont mean to sound dumb!! Ive probably had mild depression (not much bothered with stuff for a while) Ive always been a tad scared of any medication for it or for sleeping. Was thinking of going to the doctor sounds like a good idea! Have to go back to teaching next week and catch up on everything that I haven't done !! The mere thought of it makes me feel depressed!! Cheers!!

Rx is the abbreviation for prescription...
and yes, Ambien is a prescribed sleep aid.
I have really bad allergies so I've been taking a benadryl at night time, so that has helped my sleeping a little bit.
I know what you mean about being leary of sleeping meds. But there are very safe ones that are non-addictive and don't leave you groggy in the morning. My husband had been on Trazadone which our doc assures us in non addictive. He loves that he isn't all groggy in the a.m.
I've tried the Tylenol P.M., and it does help me sleep, but I tend to have trouble getting going in the morning...good luck to you.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one awake until 4am then get up exhausted for work at 6:45. My gynocologist prescribed Lunesta. Try taking just one, she said. Nothing, despite being patient and trying for five days. Try two she said, still no sleep. I'm thinking of taping our managers meetings, and playing them at night, I can hardly stay awake through them during the day. =) Good luck, everyone. I'm sure exhaustion will take over eventually, plus I'm getting lots of books read!

6 weeks post op, can't sleep!!!

This insomnia is no joke ! I took an Ambien 90 min ago and NO GO. I am anxious about returning to work and being able to get up and in on time...The Sunday night syndrome. The meds work better for me when I am not overstimulated. I also skipped my eve walk tonight because of some important phone calls. I wish you all well !!!

6 weeks post op, can't sleep!!!

There are so many of us that are experiencing the no sleep thing!! Well, I'm gad it's not just me. My dr upped my Estradiol a couple weeks ago at my 4 wk thinking it was not enough estrogen, but I am still not sleeping. When I go to bed at 10 I'm awake at 1 for a couple hours on and of and at 3 I crash til the alarm at 5:45. I am exhausted and then nap for an hour at 2. I have tried going without the nap thinking it migh help- nope!! I now stay up til 12 and then go to sleep but wake at 3-4 still. It is driving me nuts. I did try tylenol pm. Before the surgery 1 of these would knock me out. Now 2 of them- I crash for 4 hours and then I'm wide awake again.
I hear from others on this site that in later months ( after like 6) the sleeping gets better, but I'm getting imaptient like the rest of you. Will need to go back to work soon. I think I'd be happier if I go more sleep too!!
Let me know if any of you find something that's working!! I'll be praying you're all asleep when I'm awake!!
