joint pain after surgery?

I have osteo arthritis in my knee. Just wondering if the position you're in for 2 - 3 hrs during surgery leaves you with more joint pain after. I asked about what position my legs/hips would be in during surgery at my pre-op but for a TVH there's not too many options! Not sure what to expect after. They said they have new stirrups in the OR that are more supportive. I just hope I'm out before they position me.

From what I can tell, if you have an autoimmune form of arthritis, you might trigger a flare. But since you have osteoarthritis, I can't imagine this being an issue more than a couple of days. And you'll have the painkillers to help.

I have reactive arthritis, which is an autoimmune form and I'm very concerned that the surgery may trigger a flare up. Especially since I'll have to back off my meds prior to surgery.

Hi, I have a bit of arthritis in my lower back. I didn't have any extra problems with it right after my surgery. I guess the pain meds helped keep it under control.

I was already completely out before they finished positioning me.
