Preparing for hysterectomy (TAH) with ovary conservation on 7-16-15

Is it crazy that I'm excited about getting this done and moving on with my life. I have chronic back pain and with the discovery of softball sized fibroids resting on the back of my urterus, it is possible some of the pain may be coming from these invaders. I am hopeful but I understand it may not help the pain at all. I would appreciate good thoughts sent my way. Has anyone else experienced this issue?? Thanks for your input ladies.

I am having a total abdominal hysterectomy with the preservation of my ovaries as well. I also suffer from multiple large fibroids in/ on my uterus. I also have chronic back pain. My GYNO is convinced that a hysterectomy will take away my back pain and numerous other symptoms. I don't have a surgery date yet but I am waiting patiently on the list. I will be anytime between now and 4 months. Good luck to you.

I'm just 2 weeks post op TVH, and I've realized that my nagging lower back pain is gone. I've had an aching lower back for years, nothing horribly painful, but since my surgery, it's gone! I can't help but assume it's because of the surgery.

Thank you for giving me even more hopes of having a pain free existence.
