Pathology Normal?
Has anyone had a hysterectomy (I had mine Nov 7 2008 vaginally - ovaries left intact) that indicated "nothing" so-to-speak?
Doctor suspected given my heavy periods, anemia, stabbing pains etc that I may have had adenomyosis.
Pathology came back on cervix, lining, uterus as normal/unremarkable.
Bit confused. I don't see him for a post op until December 18.

Pathology Normal?
LOL I like the normal organs behaving badly. Honestly for me I had this concern. I don't know my results yet. If I do come back normal it won't bother me. I am just happy to not have to deal with the issue anymore. But I can understand the questions that must come with it. Like why the heck did I have all these issues if everything is normal?
Hopefully your doc can give you a better answer.

Pathology Normal?
AMR,
Yes, I understand. Your case sounds very similar to mine. I had a TVH on 10/1, keeping both ovaries. My dr ( and I ) thought that I had adenomyosis because of heavy periods, clotting, etc., and very, very painful periods. I had a Novasure ablation in Feb, 2007, that took care of almost all of the bleeding. The pain slowed down for a while, but it returned with intensity about 6 months later. There were months where narcotics would not make much of a dent in the pain. Also my uterus was enlarged. With all of that said, the pathology came back "normal." I am truly thankful for the "normal" report, but it was somewhat mystifying. My dr said that her priority is to make sure I am healthy and to help improve my quality of life. A "normal" path report is just an added bonus.
I had my 6 week post-op check-up today, and she released my back to life. I have had a smooth recovery and feel blessed to be at this point. There was so much anxiety in the waiting! I hope your recovery goes well, too. Blessings to you.
