Post Op and GREAT
Hi All!
I had my TAH/BSO/Bladder Repair on 2/22/05 and I am great except for bleeding vaginally....it's driving me nuts. Usually more than spotting and always bright red....have to go to doc on Monday for opinion......I really didn't know that spotting was normal though so maybe it's really ok??? Thursday morning I woke up and had soaked through everything......scared me to death....called doc and he was off and I didn't want to go to another so I;ve just been staying off my feet and it's better but not gone....if I get up much, here it comes again but no pain or fever.
I was so scared before surgery and glad I found this site....I lurked without registering and read all of your hints and ideas and am very thankful for you all!
It isn't even the 2 week mark and I feel human again! I am on no hormones and don't really feel the need for them....I've only been emotional once and that was the day of the big bleed....pain has been minimal, bowels are normal, urine is normal, I actually feel better than I have in two years.
I had severe PCOS, hashimotos thyroid disease, heart palps, high blood pressure, stage 3 uterine prolapse, bladder prolapse, and cervical dsyplasia on top of uterine hyperplasia........no wonder I feel so good right?!!
One question........is there much difference to hubby in size of vagina after tah? thanks

Post Op and GREAT
I had bleeding & spotting around the 2-3 week mark too, as the stitches dissolved at the vaginal cuff. I knew it was a possibility but it was still alarming. Mine kept up for a few days and, like yours, seemed worse when I was on my feet and better when I hit the couch. It's great you are feeling better otherwise though
Also, I came right out and asked my Dr. if the vagina is shorter now and he said the change is so minimal that there usually is no difference. You had a prolapse though, so your DH may notice more room now with that being out of the way.
Best wishes for the rest of your recovery and hope all goes well at your Dr. appt.
s,
Beth

Post Op and GREAT
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....hiya Flo!!!!! I'm so glad to see one of my 22nder sisters. AHHHHH I am doing so well since surgery. I didn't have any bleeding to the extent that you have. It hasn't been anything more than a slight pink tinged discharge. And wowzers my incision is a thing of beauty.....it's nothing more than just a very faint line already.....it's like you'd never know it was there unless ya looked for it. I'm doing so well in fact that the Dr. told me that she didn't need to see me until 6 weeks out unless something acts up. I also asked my gyn the very same question that you have. She told me the same thing as Sistabeth has said in her post. Upon hearing that info. my significant other says that he's going to give my gyn flowers and a kiss and hug. I started on estrogen replacement the day of surgery and oh my goodness the hotflashes and night sweats and things that I had been having for the last 3 yrs are GONE. yaaaaayyyyyy Life is grand once again!

Post Op and GREAT
I haven't had any vag bleeding yet, Flo, but I'm only 10 days post op. I had a slight bloody discharge while I was in the Castle, but it stopped almost as soon as it began. My gyne did say that I could still experience bleeding at some point and not to be alarmed by it unless it is accompanied by severe pain. Keeping fingers crossed for you, Flo!
Hang in there!

Post Op and GREAT
Hi Flo,
My LSH was on 2/21/05. I have felt great from day 3 on. I have had some trouble sitting when I started moving about the house more on Day 6 and 7. So I limited movement and ambitions after that for a few days and haven't sat in regular chairs much, hanging out on the couch. No pain just swelly belly.
I started spotting red yesterday. The first week and a half was just a clear like discharge and sometimes light pink which the Dr said was normal for LSH. I'm not sure what is going on but will check in with my Dr tomorrow. My post op isn't until next week.
Otherwise I continue to feel great except for the sitting part. It's a little confusing. I'll let you know after my phone call tomorrow what he says about the spotting.
Anyone else with comments on spotting at 2-3 weeks after LSH?

Thanks for the advice......I too feel wonderful for the most part.
I have had no hot flashes or any other "menopausal" issues...I am so excited but doc nurse said I will still need replacement for my bones......boo hoo!
I go to doc tomorrow morning as bleeding hasn't stopped and he is a bit concerned but other than that you wouldn't even know I had surgery just two weeks ago.
I agree about incision.......great docs make great scars!
I am going to my son's basketball teams game on Friday if it hairlips the governor and I have to put a elephant maxi pad between my legs.....it's for #1 in the state!!! hee hee
