Ok, Anyone have to drink the electrolyte? I have spoke to a few people and noone else had to drink this before their hyst. Anyone out there have to?? And why???

I had my TAH on 10/17 and had to drink the Nu Litely the night before.I was dreading it and put myself on a liquid diet the 2 days before which helped.I only manage dto drink 2/3 of the gallon and was still going to the bathroom right before my surgery!!Drink it through a straw and as fast as you can and just plan on staying on the toilet for a good 2 hrs.Good luck and let me know how it goes.

I had to drink it before my pelvisoscopy- it made me so nauseous. I could only get about 2/3's of it down, also and was still going the next morning, too. This time, before my hysterectomy, I ate jello and popsicles 2 days before and only drank water the day before. It wasn't as bad this time- was cleaned out much faster. I only drank about half because everything came out clear quicker.

Hi girls, Thanks for the advice. I made it through yesterday but still going today. I only drank 2/3 also and it was coming out clear so I figured I had enough. I didn't know about not eating with it but I only had a small bowl of soup in the morning so it wasn't so bad. I was totally nervous about being sick to my stomach but that didn't happen either. So now I have a Fleet enema and a betadine douch before bed and then off to the castle tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!!

Oh my that sounds terrible I'm so happy I do not have to do that my doctor told me all I have to do is take a laxative! I guess I should be gratefull I don't have to drink that icky stuff! good luck to you ladies lots of xoxoxoxo your way
