freaking out for sure and it's getting closer. The hardest thing is not knowing how I will feel and not sure about what he might go in and find. He never said anything other then the uterus dropped and pushed the bladder down and it has to be repaired ...(bladder)...anyone else have bladder issues...Please keep in touch....grateful for everyone here.
Hugs and prayers (JJS) June 11th TVH/cystocele....(Joan)

I have actually heard that that is very common. I know that it is still very scary, but my neighbor went through the same thing only last week. I dont know if that helps. But sometimes it helps me to know that other people have gone through what I am going through!!

Scheduled 7/10 and in the same boat, constant fear and worry. A friend offered something really makes be know this is the best thing "once this if over you will be amazed at how bad you really felt".
I'm at the point where I think the fear is worse than the surgery.

I totally agree, I am terrified of the unknown, will they find something else wrong? Yes, a few of my friends said :Just think how much better you will feel"? It's hard to focus on that as I am not in a real lot of pain that I cannot handle. The uterus prolapsed and took my bladder with it. Thankfully it is still "right down there" and not coming out, I would be freaking big time if that happened. Having to wait 8 weeks for surgery was not good. He wanted to make sure my tissues were soft and prepared as my periods stopped very early, over 10 years ago. I would like to hear if other's do not like to be in the hospital and out of touch....and have no control....? that is so much of my fear. Also, do you have to drink that mag. cit. stuff? I am so worried about that as I am already running to the bathroom enough and have IBS and sometimes a piece of bread makes me sick....JJS (Joan)

I had double total hip replacements in 1999 and I was in so much pain, limping around on a cane and then one and then two crutches.....I stood the pain, went to work, and when it was over and I was healing which took forever....I was greatful for the decrease in pain. I still deal with joint pain every minute of my life, now need knees replaced one day....way down the road...terrified...so this "woman" pain is easier to deal with as I would not know what it was to be out of pain totally....I resent having to do this..I am scared and angry.....

Hear what you are saying and there for you and everyone else.
I do not think you have to put on a front for your family, but trust me, I understand. I have two sons I do not speakk with hardly ever.. They are adults and not kids anymore. The past with my older son not ever understand my orthopedic disabilities or pain was so bad I finally built a wall so I no longer had to try to hide my pain. I will not go into anymore as this is not the place I guess. But, what I am saying is I stuck with my 8 year s/o boyfriend and he has been by my side all the time. So I'm not going to be able to have children...so I'm going to be plunged into menopause 10 years too early...but hey, I'm healthy otherwise and have a God that loves me so much and wants only the best for me. And THIS is the best for me. However, all that being said, I'm still sad, and scared and have no idea how to tell me DH how I feel inside. Pray for me, dear sisters, and I will for all of you.

Me Too
My surgery is Tuesday June 10th. I can't think of anything but this. It really has consumed me. However I did my preop last Friday and while I was waiting for my turn I really felt at ease. Everyone I came into contact with put me at ease about the surgery. I just want it over with. And to make matters worse this morning I started. How yuck is that.

I am with you and my mind is spinning.....cannot focus on much, but what made me feel better today is, I had several hours alone, my boyfriend went to help his mom and take our laundry there...
I made dinner for him, something I cannot eat with a cream sauce that usually upsets my tummy.....and then got a bunch of treats and snack ready for him....he is so spoiled....usually have that all the time so we both snack with good things... dried fruit,, yogurt pretzles, etc. I also got little snacks ready for Sparky, my Cockatiel, so my s/o does not have to worry about doing it when he is visiting me and doing many other things. Thankfully he is laid off now so will be with me a lot and watching my Sparky....he is like a three year old and requires a lot of attention...
So, do something to take your mind off it, even if it is just reading mail in group here...
Write if you want....I am here for you and tomorrow is the appointment with the doctor, last one.

Yep, I'm right there with all of you. I am getting ready to do my Fleet's enema as my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning (6/9). I am anxious and have a lot of emotional feelings that I am dealing with. I worry about the pain afterwards and hope it isn't too bad. At 49 y/o I'm not getting any younger!

I am definitely there with you all! I too am so nervous and anxious. I was surprised how emotional I have gotten though. I didn't think I would become as upset as I have. I too can't sleep but it caught up with me this afternoon and I slept the whole day away.
I have been cleaning , watching movies (although with a million interruptions), reading, etc, but it doesn't really take away the nervousness. (excuse the bad spelling please).
