achy ovaries
I had hysterectomy in July and I kept both ovaries. I have noticed the last two months when its time for my period, that my ovaries ache, and my belly swells, just like it did before my surgery. Is this normal?? I thought pain and swelling was a thing of the past! Anyone else having the same problems? I do have a hematoma, and the doctor said it was below where my uterus used to be, could that thing cause some of this belly swelling? I thought last month it was just all in my head, but this month confirms its real, I feel like I swallowed a watermelon, WHOLE !! Any suggestions appreciated !

achy ovaries
I chose to keep my ovaries and was told that I would continue to experience all the symptoms related to my normal monthly cycle -- ovulation ache (minor for me), emotional flux due to regular monthly hormonal changes, etc. -- but without the bleeding. In the limited time of my recovery, I can verify that I still have a monthly cycle, but no bleeding -- yippee. Of course, please consult your doctor to verify the facts for you and your body. Best wishes.

Are they monitoring the progress of your hematoma? My dr said mine should be gone after 3 months and mine measured 7cm x 7cm x 4cm two weeks ago. It is in the same location as yours.
