question on taking vitamins after TAH/BSO

I take a regular multi-vitamin, calcium and vitamin C. I haven't had any problems with them upsetting my stomach, I just don't take them on an empty stomach.

question on taking vitamins after TAH/BSO

I take a multi vitamin, Vit C and Rx Metanx(B's/folic acid). I was told Calcium Citrate was best. My multi Vit has the calcium carbonate, so I might add another to it.

How do all of you take yours? Do you split them up and take in am/pm or ?
Especially wondering about the "cocktail mixture" I've seen posted. It seems to be a lot of pills and was curious about how was best to take them?
Thanks

question on taking vitamins after TAH/BSO

I had never heard of NOT taking iron after a hyterectomy. As a matter of fact my DR asked me to take a multivitamin WITH iron. Why shouldn't we take iron?

question on taking vitamins after TAH/BSO

From what I have read..women over 50 or menopausal do not need additional iron supplements. Iron is mostly excreted from the body during our periods and since we no longer have those...addtional iron can be more of a risk to our health rather than a benefit.

I have used an iron skillet for years to cook with and I figure what I get from that and a bowl of oatmeal will be enough.

I think it is being suggested now that women need to add more Vit. D to the diet which I have also started doing.
