tummy tenderness

I'm 3 weeks and 3 days post op of a TAH and bladder lift. My stomach is so very sensitive. It feels like needles going across my skin every time anything touches it. It's just below and above my incision. Am I over doing it or is this just normal? How long is this going to last?

It should ease around the 4th week mark. I had the same thing and it was worse in my belly button. It felt like a knife being twisted. That didn't stop until the 5th week. Hang in there. You are not alone.

Yes! Felt like a bad sunburn. Mine is finally getting better at four weeks. I would put Aspercreme on it and it would help a little. I also found about week three when my incisions were not as painful, I could wear lightweight pantyhose. This would keep my pants from rubbing on the sensitive skin. Serious...it helped. Hang in there. It gets better.

Oh...forgot to mention that yes, it is normal. What you are feeling is nerves coming back. As painful as it is, it is a good thing.
