Staying well
Unfortunately my allergies are going haywire. I think it's because of all the cleaning I've been doing trying to get ready (I'm allergic to dust). So despite wearing a mask and gloves while cleaning, I woke up with a slight sore throat this morning. DVH isn't until August 16 but now I'm worried about getting sick and surgery getting cancelled. I looked at the section herbs to stop before surgery, but I don't take any of those any way. Have any of you considered taking some extra vitamin c before surgery just as some added protection? I already take a daily multi vitamin, but in the winter time when I feel a cold coming on, I take some extra zinc and vitamin c.

Re: Staying well
If it's your allergies can you take an allergy med? I've been making sure to take mine every night, I notice if I forget I get a sore throat and stuffy nose. I was told to take a probiotic as well, but keep forgetting to do that, I have them in the fridge and everything but haven't been taking them. My surgery is on the same date as yours, I'd say don't stress about it because it seems like if you do stress about getting sick, it will happen.

Re: Staying well
Thanks for the reply. I take my decongestant in the mornings since it keeps me awake and night (I'm having enough trouble sleeping as it is). I think I'll start taking my Benadryl at night again just to be on the safe side. I take a great multivitamin that has probiotics in them, so I don't have to keep trying to remember to take it. Sending prayers and best wishes to you. Glad to find someone else with the same surgery date. Can't wait to be on the other side!
