Retroverted Uterus

My surgery was 5/18. I ended up having endo in the culdesac between the rectum and the uterus and on one ovary. No wonder I have had so much pain. I'm glad it is over now and that I won't have to go through those terrible disabling monthly periods and the rest of the constant abdominal discomfort. I had an LAVH and BSO. Never knew I had endo. Doctor told me whatever she didn't get would disolve since both my ovaries were removed. Does this sound right? I'm feeling so much better and it has been less than a week.

Endometriosis, is it hereditary?

I had bad endo (feel like I still have some tucked away somewhere too, since hyst). My mum had a hyst in her 40's but they didn't really know about it then - she could've had it. I know someone who had really bad endo and then her daughter was diagnosed with it at 16. There was a study being conducted in Australia on sisters with endo to see if there was a connection, but I don't know what the outcome was or if the study is still going. Any aussie out there know about this, or participate in it. I think it was the Queensland University that were conducting it.

Endometriosis, is it hereditary?

It is strange that they say it is not genetic. My Mom also had a hyst in her early 40's, I'm 42. She had it severly and so did I.
I just wish they could find a cure!!!
Fortunately my Mom did not have fertility problems like I did. I had a son by in vitro so at least I don't have to worry about a daughter having all this pain.
Best wishes and I pray your daughers will be fine!!!
