feeling fat and frumpy

Don't be afraid of the shower! It is wonderful! the highlight of my days during recovery. if you are worried about your incision you can use your blow dryer on low heat after the shower to completely dry the area.

Feeling fat and frumpy

Hi JooB,
I also had my hysterectomy on 6-13-05, so we have something in common. I was lucky and only had a TVH with no complications. I also feel fat and frumpy. Right now I am able to stay home--work at a school--and this does help. Have been feeling pretty good--so this makes it hard cause I have a tendency to overdue and this causes my belly to swell even more. I have to make myself lie down and take it easy when my body tells me to. I was loosing weight before my surgery and have now gained back about 10lbs. but I know that when I get the okay to start doing normal activities then I will worry about getting more back in shape. I have been walking everyday and drinking lots of water and this does help. Just remember that healing properly is the most important thing right now....we will loose all of this post-surgery weight with time when we get the all clear. It won't come off easy but just think how much better we will feel with everything behind us and no more pain . Just remember...you're not alone!
