Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

I am 3 weeks 2 days post-op from tah/bso. I haven't been spotting much for over a week then last night I began spotting pinkish in color (where it had been more brown) and it has continued all today. Sorry to be so grafic, but I tried calling Dr today and he was out of town. I am just wondering if I just maybe over did it, I have 3 children, two under age 3 1/2 - they do not really understand I can't do all the things I used to, well even my teenager doesn't understand that either- I know I have done more than I should....Am I OK? Should I be really worried or just try to take things slower? Any advice would be appreciated.

Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

I think you should take things slower, worry only about the things that are absolutly necessary. It must be so hard with the little ones and a teenager. I remember when my kids were teenagers. It seemed they instinctively knew every button to push, knew all my faults and were more than happy to share them with me!
Try to rest as much as possible. I would call your dr just to ease your mind and make sure everything is OK. Your emotions are all over the place so early in your recovery. It is so hard to deal with just the ordinary day to day of life. I don't have children at home anymore and I still burst into tears over the littlest things.
Try to be easy on yourself and do as little as possible. You are not crazy, this is major surgery and major healing needs to be done. It is so hard with children. Try to pamper yourself as much as possible. Paper plates, take out, wear clothes a couple of extra days. Maybe a neighbor can help get school supplies when they go to get their childrens. Peanut butter jelly sandwhiches, easy meals, easy cleanup, easy does it.
I would call your doc just to rule anything out. I hope things get a little easier. KISS. Keep it simple sister!

Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

Thank you for the comforting words. I am all over the place emotionally and pulled in so many directions. I don't want to neglect anyone but don't need to be hurting myself in the process. I appreciate the encouragement. You seem to know exactly where I am coming from.

Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

I don't think as women we are neglecting anyone when we take care of ourselves. I lived a long time being a martyr and caring for everyone first. I eventually had nothing left to give.If you don't take care of yourself you don't fill up your well and you don't have anything to give. The only thing my well filled up with was resentment. I didn't look too good hanging from the cross.
I found out the hard way that it is self care to take care of yourself.Self care allows you to take care of others. I also found out that others didn't know I ever needed them or was vunerable and we both missed out. My kids learned it is ok to not know everything, it is ok to need help, receive it, and give it. It is also ok to be human , vunerable and strong.
I think you are doing great and it is beautiful to be just a human being struggling along with the rest of us. People do understand and you helped me to to remember the lessons I learned and to be greatful that I lived through it. You are giving your kids the greatest gift of all, the permission to be imperfect, to be human and to be loved because of it.I am human and fallible but I am also strong. I know you are too but now is your time to heal. We are not super women. I threw out my cape a long time ago.
Your children know you love them and that is all that is important. If all you can so is watch movies all day than that is a beautiful day!!!!
Have a beautiful day!!!

Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

Marg is one wise lady! As I've said on other posts, I agree with her. I just wanted to add that I had discharges like you described. When I had my 3 week check-up, it was more of a white substance, and my dr mentioned that it was normal. My understanding is that whether it's whitish, tannish, pink, brown, even greyish--they're all normal.

Did I just over do it or should I be worried?

I overdid it about the same time & started a pinkish discharge again. I went to lots of bed rest & felt back where I had been after 2 days.

I spoke to my dr. about spotting. She said, that as long as it was spotting I was just over doing it and to rest. Any large amount of blood....go to the EMERGENCY ROOM. So take it a little easier tired. I know it's hard with babies and teenagers. My prayers are with you.
