Pain came back 9 wks post op

Around week 5 to 6 my stomach pain went away and I even forgot, for the most part, that I had a hysterectomy. I had gone back to work and everything was great.

On Thursday of this past week, 1/14/2010, my stomach started hurting real bad. I ate a lot of raw sweet potato sticks that afternoon at work. So I assumed it was gas. I have taken gas-x, antacids, you name it. I also had moved some boxes around at work .

My stomach is swollen and hurts so bad, like on about week 4. I don't know what to do. Has this happed to anyone else? What could it be?

I'm so sorry you are having pain. I know when my surgeon released me for normal activity, she also added "as you can tolerate it". Perhaps moving those boxes was a little too much yet? Gas pains can hurt pretty bad too, but for me the pains of overdoing it were different. When i overdid, ice packs on the tummy helped a lot.

It wouldn't hurt to call your Dr and let them know. They might want to see you to make sure you are ok.

Raw vegetables definitely can cause gas, and moving boxes caused me to have a pain relapse. I also felt better after ice packs, if I had done something that might flare up the pain. Good luck, and I hope you'll give your doc a call if the pain persists. Hang in there.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am calling the dr. tomorrow and will go in if I need too. Have too much to do at work to have a set back.

I have been putting a heating pad on and notice it hurt worst. Didn't think about ice. Thanks a lot! Hope all is well with you. Love you sis!
