internal exam at 2 week checkup?

should i expect an internal exam at my 2 week checkup after a TAH?wondering if i should try to shave my legs or not?! lol

Good question. I also have mine this week and have been wondering the same thing. I had a TVH and can't even stand the thought of one. I usually pass out during the exam without any surgery recovery!

I had a TAH and no internal exam. The doctor said next visit which would be my 6 week post visit.

I logged on to specifically ask this question. Great minds think alike lol. My exam is tomorrow and like lola09 I can't imagine a pelvic exam being done. I'm feeling pretty good 2 weeks post op but not looking forward to a physical exam.

Lola, I also had a TVH and she did an internal exam at 4 weeks. It was uncomfortable, but bearable.

This week will be my 3rd week post op. I am having severe gas like pains when I need to "go". Is this normal?

I did not have an internal exam at 2 weeks post-op. I will have one at 4 weeks post-op. To be honest they do not really bother me. My doctor is gentle that I really do not know that he is doing an exam. Now it might be different with a post-op exam but before surgery I was like HOLY MOLY he said he was done and did not even know he did an exam. Good luck with your appt.

It sounds a little early. Are you having any issues? Is this your first post op visit? As far as shaving your legs - it may be a little early for that. Please do not let vanity hinder your healing. Unless you can safely bend and maitain your balance it is not worth the risk of falling, cutting yourself or just irritation for the compression. Your doctor is not going to care if your legs are hairy!
To those of you who are thinking and wondering - yes I have hairy legs (generally shave ~4+x/wk).
I went to the ER for severe pain at <2 weeks and had an internal another at 3 weeks and another at 3.5 weeks. None were horrible and I didn't shave my legs for any.

well i had my DH shave my legs for me just in case but just got back from 2 week checkup and no internal , whew!
