Help & advice needed

I'm 3 weeks post op & feel exhausted, have slight light pink bleeding as well as spasms that come on with no warning & actually make me stop in my tracks.

I had only minimal bleeding post op then nothing until now.

My stomach is quite sore as well as the left kidney area that needed surgery 5 days post op.

I am wondering if I've picked up an infection, if internal damage has been done, if it's related to the kidney damage, if it's my body clearing the haemorrhage that was seen on ct or if this is just part of the healing process.

I am really not keen on returning to the hospital for another 5 day stay....

Hoping someone can give their input

Thank you in advance

Re: Help & advice needed

In my experience - you may bleed/spot periodically during healing - as the swelling goes down some of the incision spot may have little pockets of blood that will release. Also as the stitches dissolve (which you are a little early for that yet).

There is an article on here regarding why we have pain on the left side... I think it is in the 'recovery checklists'.

That being said - everyone is different and if you are experiencing pain that doesn't feel normal, a fever, excess or bright red bleeding, pain while urinating.... call the doc... you are the only one who can tell if this is 'normal' for your healing process.

Re: Help & advice needed

At 3 weeks I started bleeding; it turned out to be from a hematoma & infection in my vaginal cuff. I was put on antibiotics & advised to slow down. I would suggest that you call your doctor & get it checked out. Hope you're feeling better soon!
