5 months post hysterectomy Pelvic adhesions

I am 5 months post op from a total hysterectomy with removal of ovaries I'm 32 years old had a laparoscopic surgery in June 2014 to relieve cysts, adhesions, etc. Then in oct 2014 had the hyster i was told then i had started to develop more scar tissue. The doc cleaned me out and really menopause has been mild to moderate. But i started getting my pelvic pain back and my doctor suspects adhesions again. I go to physical therapy 2 times a week. But i guess im just wondering has anyone else had this issue.

Re: 5 months post hysterectomy Pelvic adhesions

I did. Hyst in april, no adhesive disease or scar tissue really. Never felt right. By sept, had a lap to remove adhesions and a stitch that never dissolved. By dec, dr removed both ovaries and the adhesions were back already. I believe i have some again now, but not a lot of pain and things are functioning fine, to be honest i feel extra cramping and tugging in pelvic area at times and thats the worst of it. I am afraid to even try anything more!! And its totally doable right now. But no, you are not alone!! A lot of people talk about the therapy, do you feel it is helping you?

Re: 5 months post hysterectomy Pelvic adhesions

I do!!! My surgery was in April of 2014 and I still cannot completely function. I diagnosed myself after the medical world here and all its specialists could not figure out what was wrong. I saw so many docs and had all kinds of tests that revealed nothing. None of the docs could tell me what to do next, where to go, and never mentioned that my adhesions may had already be coming back. After hysterectomy surgeon did tell me she had discovered adhesions, cut them away, used a prevention barrier and hoped they would not return. I am positive they have. All the docs could suggest to me was getting my pain under control with pain management doc. I already had one of those but all the meds never got me pain free and I don't want to live on drugs forever. I had to quit my job and my life is VERY...ummmm... different. I did find a place in FL. that treats adhesions manually. While it has helped me tremendously, I'm still not highly functional.

I think the therapy helps. It hurts but helpful. But it is hard to find someone who specializes in pelvic pain. Its severely under diagnosed. If anyone is in the dfw area i can highly recommend one. But its on going. Glad to know im not alone but sorry to hear your going threw it.

Im currently in pain management but i hear you on the taking drugs all the time. And to me its just not a answer that works but it at least takes the edge off the pain. It took me 6 gyno to get anyone to do anything and when i finally found one they found out i had adhesions that pinned my ovary down and was attached to my small intestine and pulling that down. All i can say is i know my body and i had to put my foot down finally with a doctor and say enough was enough. But i honestly dont remember a point in the past 4 years except a couple months after each surgery then it creeps back. But the physical therapy did and does help. And finally and doctor (my physical therapist) understands. Im thinking of trying to go to a new uro/gyno but i feel like i know more than the doctors. I understand how life changing this all this is. Im here if you want to talk. Prayers with you.

Hang in there. Its probably adhesions but i had to demand results and change doctors many times. I told my gyno before my hysterectomy imagine someone grabbed your balls and is pulling and squeezing them constantly. This site is very helpful ive found. Hang in there and i prayer you get answers.
