swelly belly 6 wks post-op

Hello my sisters!! Questions for all: I have a vertical cut, I seem to swell above and on my incision, like a watermelon. Is that how everyone else swells?

I'm 3 months post-op and my swelly belly is half of what it was in the beginning. I can see my incision scar now.

My belly was huge before op due to all sorts of gyne problems, I looked pregnant. Was terrified of surgery and asked doc if the op would make my belly go down. Had he said "yes" I would have been overtaking the anaesthetists to get into that theatre, but he laughed and said no it wouldn't. Well, almost 6 weeks post op it is less than it was, but still swelly. So no change really! Wouldn't it be nice if the docs said, yes after this op you will have a perfectly flat stomach and a waist again!
