Had My Check Up Today

It's been three weeks since my TAH (still have cervix). I went in to have the butterfly sutchers removed today.

Basically he told me I can do what ever I feel like doing, except if it hurts, stop and try again in a week or two. He did suggest I wait about 2-3 weeks till I do weights, situps, or sex.

Does this seem kindof sudden? He said I don't have to go back for a year to have yearly exams.

Had My Check Up Today

Uh... yeah!!! Sounds like we go to the same ob/gyn clinic. My nurse friends and the good ladies on this sight explain how important it is to take it easy because on the inside we still heal for up to 6 months and more and warned about pulling things apart, hemmoraging, blood clots, adhesions... But at 2 and 1/2 weeks I was sweeping and mopping, doing laundry, even went back to work for a day (cleaning a 2 story home with 3 full bathrooms - didn't vacuum, though). My friends had a hissy fit about it and the people on this site gave me stern warnings about the consequences of my folly. I have to say that day I came home from work I went straight to bed and was there for 6 straight days (until today) and took a step backwards in my recovery. But when I called my doctor (at 2 1/2 weeks) and told them everything I was doing the nurse said "That's fine as long as it doesn't hurt". I asked about all the stitches on the inside and she said "Oh, they're about dissolved by now". So... 50 people giving me warnings, women with experience and a couple of nurse friends, and 1 nurse telling me it was okay - I decided to go with the 50 women who seemed to know what they're talking about. I've lost all trust in my doctor and his staff. I'm paying the price for their advice. Oh, and the women here said how important it is to have an internal exam at about 6 weeks. I'm sure that many will respond to your post with more information and explanation. Treat yourself well. Recover right. Best to you.

Oh, I am not planning on over dooing it by any means. I won't carry the laundry baskets, or vacuum, not planning on mopping. He said to take it easy but if I want to do something, try it.

I am a leapyear baby too. I'll be 12 next year (my son likes telling people he is older than his mom). I have a t-shirt that says "be nice to me, my birthday's not on the callendar".
