Upcoming hysterectomy 4/13: clear liquid? Huh? My preop is day before, so ????

I haven't been told anything about a clear liquid diet although I see some of you talking about it? My preop is the afternoon the day before my surgery. All they told me for pre-op on the phone was to stop eating and drinking at midnight.

What do I need to know?

Also, I'm a little confused as to all the acronyms. I'm having it all removed via DaVinci, so which letters acronym is it? uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes.

Not everyone is required to do a bowel prep or clear liquid diet before surgery, I wasn't! You can certainly call the doctor to confirm but if they just want no food or drink after midnight, then that should be pretty easy. You may want to eat lite for dinner that night but if there aren't restrictions, then it is really up to you.
