Ok, everything went well for our first time, BUT
I asked dh if anything felt different for him. First he was shocked that I would even ask! Then he said, "well I couldn't really tell, but I guess it was a little different."
He couldn't explain, why though. I am a hurt that it's not the same for him and wonder if its a lot different! Is there something I can do other than kegels...how often should these be done? Will these really make a difference? Dumb Q: How will I know if I am doing it correctly?

I think you are talking about sex. My first time after the only thing different is that it physically hurt me. I don't believe there is a real difference inside me except maybe I am tighter. My DH didn't notice a difference in me. He did know that it hurt me so he was more gentle and didn't move in me as deep.I had a LVH on Oct. 5 and sex just keeps getting each time. My DH as time went on started moving deeper inside me and we let nature take its course. (of course I would still get nervous about something not working or going wrong), but my DH just let me have my fears without making a big deal about them. My doctor also told us to have alot of sex for the healing process inside of me. My advice is relax it was just the first time and try to enjoy it.

Yes, thats what I am talking about
it didn't hurt and I didn't bleed afterwards---I use to hurt and bleed before surgery. I was nervous, but then noticed that it didn't hurt like I had thought it would the first time--due to the surgery, so I relaxed a bit more. So maybe the more we enjoy each other the better it will be.

Ok, everything went well for our first time, BUT
Hello systers,
I had my TAH Nov. 17, 2006. I went for my 6 wk check up on December 28th and was put on antiobiotics for an infection at my vaginal cuff. Welllll, tonight my dh and I had sex. I am due for a check up Jan 9th. I know I shouldn't have done that but much to my surprise I had no pain. It actually felt better than before my surgery. My dr had me douching 2 times a day with perioxide and I really think that has helped my infection alot. I hope I did not mess up by being weak tonight. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I have waited too long and hopefully this did not hinder any healing. Systers, if you can wait do it..........the worry of - have I hurt anything? is overwhelming. Thanks for letting me vent....LOL! Good luck to everyone.

Remember that 'different' may not necessarily be worse. Maybe it felt better! I think the more you relax the more comfortable you both will be.
