Re: Anxiety few months post hysterectomy?!?

Ths could be a symptom of menopause. I suffer for generalized anxiety disorder and I was taught how to ride thru them without with meds. You could check into that.

Re: Anxiety few months post hysterectomy?!?

My issue is depression rather than anxiety, but it seems to me that you've left out an important option: besides meds and "let it ride", there's non-med management through behaviour, diet and sleep patterns. This can range from specific breathing or patterning exercises that you do when you feel an anxiety attack coming on, to ways to identify and avoid triggers that are causing the attacks, to very general things like building more outdoor time and physical activity into your life.

For me and my depression, "let it ride" will *always* eventually backfire on me. I use a combination of meds and behavioural techniques to manage my depression. This includes some just plain ol' good sense stuff like eat healthy and get enough sleep, physical activity and outdoor time. It's also included learning to improve my boundary maintenance skills with other people so that when someone's trying to "invade," I can just say "no" and walk away.

Good luck!

Yes that is what I was taught when I was feed back therapy. Breathing, meditating, and know the triggers. It has helped me for 20 years now.
