Has anyone else been on the antibiotic ciprofloxacin hcl 500 mg

Started this antibiotic on Wednesday for an infection and have been dizzy and have had such a headache that starts at the base of my skull and wraps around to the front of my head like a helmet with pain behind my eyes. It hurts so much that I can hardly lay my head down. It feels like pressure. Other than that I have felt a little better. My blood pressure was very low but is returning to a more normal range. I also seem to have a bit more energy. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this reaction to this particular antibiotic. I don't know anyone who has heard of it.

I've taken cipro a lot, it's never made me dizzy but I looked it up and that is a side effect for some people! If you are still dizzy I would let your doctor know!

Hope you feel better!

Cipro can be harsh for some people.
I never had that reaction but it doesn't sound good so definitely let your doctor know if it continues then maybe ask for another type of antibiotic.
Take care

I took Cipro about a month ago for what the ER thought was diverticulitis (turned out to be endometriosis and fibroids that caused me to have a hysterectomy). The Cipro caused me to be so dizzy and nauseous I couldn't even stand up! I told my dr after three days of suffering and he said that happens to some people and thankfully put me on another antibiotic. I would call and ask if you can switch antibiotics.

Hi sister,
I was on cipro 2x's a day and experienced both headaches and dizziness. it seemed to go away after a few days. I did call my dr and they had me come in just to make sure things were ok.... They were most concerned with the dizziness and my bp. Call your dr. Just to make sure. It's a pretty strong antibiotic. Sending best wishes for your recovery.
