vaginal fullness feeling... 6 days post op total vaginal hysterectomy

I woke up this morning feeling like i have something in my vagina. I resesarched what it could be on here & found several posts from women that felt the same way. Post suggested it is from vaginal swelling, my only concern is i am only 6 days post op & alot of those posts were from women farther along in their recovery. I know everyone heals different & i shouldnt compare my recovery to someone else, this is just a weird feeling. It doesnt hurt it is just really uncomfortable, like a tampoon is in there wrong. Anyone else felt like this less than a week in recovery? Thanks

Yes. I would call your doctor. I felt the same way about 4 or 5 days post op. Turns out the doctor has put packing up there after surgery and failed to tell me about it. I called and he said to go ahead and take it out. I felt tons better after this. It may be different for you... But no harm calling and asking your doctor if that what it may be. I thought my bladder was falling out.

Ice will help the swelling. I have my frozen corn ice pack that I would sit on for a while. Others will wet a pad, freeze it and put it down there.

For the car ride, you can try a 'donut' to sit on.

Remember ladies to follow the thread with other women who had surgery the same week. It helps to walk with other that are in the same time frame as you.

If you are concerned, I would say it's time to get a call into the doctor office. I had that problem and it was just swelling but I saw a doctor. Better safe than sorry!
