Fourth day post op
This has been a wild ride to say the least. Had my surgery on Tuesday, July 8th. The Dr. said the uterus was much larger than expected. I was told sixteen weeks and it was 20 weeks and one of my fibroids was grapefruit size. He said I must have been expereincing alot of pain, and he was right. Wed. was a pretty good day, but not much action. about 4am Thursday morning I vomited, started running fever, started itching from the pain meds, had to be catherized because my bladder wouldn't work.Thursday was the day from hell. I did not start feeling like a human being until about 6 pm that evening. Friday was just a day to try to get back to normal, whatever that is. All of my bloodwork and urine samples came back okay. I didn't run a temp on Friday and started feeling better. I was determined to go home on Saturday. When the doctor came in he said I could go home without a cath if I urinated a certain amount and there was no more than a certain amount left in my bladder. I took my first shower in four days!! It was really warm and help me to urinate and I was able to leave without that evil bag. I'm not trying to scare anyone, but weird things can go wrong and make your stay a little longer and more miserable than expected. The good news it my pathology report came back great and I hope to feel good as new in about eight weeks.

Fourth day post op
Hello Kaky
sorry to hear you have experienced some difficulties in your post-op recovery. These things can occur - but your doctor is taking extra good care of you. Now you are home, remember to take things very easy. This is the hard bit - Recovery.
All the best to you! It's all good from here - yay.

Thanks! My doctor was wonderful and was really concerned. He took very good care of me as well. The nurses were great as well. I am so happy that I willl be sleeping in my own bed tonight. I even have a few blisters on my legs and back from not being able to get out of bed. I am so glad that rough patch is over.
