Re: Food for husband - at wits end! PLEASE HELP

Ditto on all the great ideas for meals. Here's a couple more suggestions:

1) Plan your meals for the first 10 days after your surgery.

2) Write down each night's menu. This way he will know what to take out of the freezer in the morning and it will be ready to reheat that night.

3) You'll probably go shopping the day before surgery and get all that will be needed for the first week. The menu plan will help you make a grocery list for the following week.

4) Lots of your friends want to help. Arrange for them to bring meals by on designated days. That way everyone doesn't arrive with a casserole on the same day.

Lastly, there are lots of great ways to cheat at meals. Bags of mixed veggies can get turned into a simple stir fry with some garlic, ginger and soy sauce... or a pasta with veggies (toss in some cooked sausage or leftover meat) add a vinegrette dressing and bread.

Better yet, have a friend or relative stay with you for the first 2 weeks. They can pamper the princess and cook for the household!
