TLH: My family not supportive

I can totally understand wanting your mom to be there for you. It really appears that she can't or won't do that for you. I have a great mom but a horrific dad who I don't talk to. He sounds like your mom is. It took me a long time to realize that he is toxic and that is what is true for your mom. I think that having her there would be so stressful for you that it would hurt your healing. I am so glad that you have your husband and mother in law there for you. Just be grateful for them being there. sometimes you find someone who isn't a blood relative who is more of a parent than your actual one.

So sorry to hear that you are not getting support from your mother. I agree with all the good advice that has been posted. You must put yourself first for now. As mothers we try to please and care for everyone and often forget to look after ourselves. It is so important for your recovery to go into this with a positive attitude. I hope you find a way to achieve that. As for anyone who is letting you down, my way of dealing with them is not to expect anything from them. That way they can't disappoint me. ((Hugs))
