Pre-op Nurse today

I am going to see the pre-op nurse today. My TAH is set for Friday 8AM. What should I expect from ths appointment today? The nurse called me and set this up over the phone and I didn't have time to ask her "what's this all about?" I am feeling a little nervous with my date so close and find myself talking my poor DH's ear off when he is home from work about anything and everything. I know I am probably repeating myself and boring him but I can't seem to help it. Thanks for all the support. It has really helped alot. Phyllis

I've read a lot of posts about the pre-op appt. They do seem to vary quite a bit. But I will tell you what happened at my visit. I had blood drawn and urine sample taken. Then I was weighed and filled out forms about health history and surgery info and then I pre-addmitted myself. I also got to talk to the anesthesist about the choices I had. This is where I got the info I needed about what to do 12 hours prior to the surgery ie, no Motrin or Advil. No lotion after my shower stuff like that. I was also given my surgery time. I did not have to do a bowl-prep so this was not discussed at my visit, However I have heard others mention this. Best of luck to you my friend.
