Two days post hysterectomy: Diarrhea after surgery

I had my surgery on Friday. I have had pain on my right side. This should subside in the next few days. My only question is I started having diarrhea today two days after my surgery. Is this normal?

Not everyone gets it, but it's not unusual. Mine started four days after surgery, the day after I got home from the hospital. I think it might be due to being given antibiotics that kill off the "good bacteria" in our guts? Anyway, I ate plain yogurt with active cultures to replenish my guts, and that fixed the diarrhea within a day or two. If you don't like yogurt, try probiotic capsules.
