10 days post op need some to talk to

Hi dreamfire 9800, about being in pain - I had LAVH on 15 April and I am still taking panadol regularly. Not as much as before but I still need them. My doc says that is fine, they say it is important not to be in pain and that it aids healing if you are not in pain. Maybe you should ask your doc about pain medication again?

Please try to take care of yourself too and not do too much. Maybe you could try being a bit more 'helpless' so that your family understands that you really need to rest. I find the more I do the more my family expects me to do! And soon you will start feeling better, the old you will come back and you will wonder why you didn't give yourself a chance to rest in those early weeks. Take care and know that you are not alone

We all totally understand where you are coming from. It's hard enough to recover when everything is going "right" much less when you have family emergencies to cope with. So sorry that you've had to deal with all that. And I can appreciate what you are saying about "mom never gets sick" because mom is the glue that holds everyone together.

If your surgeon isn't being responsive about pain meds, what about your gp? Someone needs to help you get your pain under control; your body has to work harder to heal up when you hurt. Also, not to scare you, but if you're having unbearable pain, there may be a complication that needs to be addressed.

At any rate we are all here to be supportive and you can vent any time! I hope everyone in the family is doing better and can let you get back to resting and healing. Keep posting and letting us know your progress.

I really feel for you, it must be very hard not to get rest so that you can heal.

I am 11 days post op and if I do anything I am bleeding quite heavily. My hubby still has one week of holiday and is doing everything.

I think you need to sit your family down and tell them you really need their help, maybe they don't fully understand?
