Who knew 1 ovary could cause this much moodiness

Just entering my 3rd postoperative week LAVH with single ovary removal. I've been teary and moody all day. Because my daughter and I were always in synch I asked her and sure enough it's "that time of the month."

I would have guessed that PMS would be lessened with 1 ovary removed but I'm sure having a doozy today. I cried when I got home from Culvers and found that they hadn't made my hamburger the right way. How's that for pathetic?

I am curious for opinions on this -- it's my understanding that I'm at about the time that internal stitches are starting to dissolve. I've got mild cramping , especially on the side where they removed my ovary. Is this normal? I'm worried because they discovered endometriosis during surgery, what if they failed to remove all the tissue. The thought of having gone through the surgery, the physical recovery, the financial stress of not working -- what if they didn't get everything and I still get monthly cramps? Oh boy, here go the tears again. I know it's too soon to worry and I'll definitely be talking to the doctor about my concerns at my followup in a couple of weeks.

Happy healing to all.

Yes, it can be normal to have mood swings and tender areas still after this surgery. I found it took months to heal and work themselves out.

Hang in there and be sure to mention anything that is bothering you when you go visit the doctor.
