May 19, 2003 is my big day. Anyone else?

I am scheduled for a laproscopic assisted vaginal hyster. I have an extremely enlarged uterus, heavy periods and back and lower abdomen pain. The oddest thing is that I have pain very regularly in a large area above my navel. I have been scoped, prodded and ultra sounded but nothing shows up. I have been told they do not suspect cancer. Has anyone else experienced this particular symptom and was it relieved by hyster? I really dread all of this as I am needle-phobic. I can handle the pain (I think) but I faint at needles!

While I'm sorry that you have been in so much pain and are facing more surgery, I am glad that you found us and posted to introduce yourself.

I didn't have the same pain that you mention, so I'm afraid that I can't give you any suggestions about what might be causing it.
