Biopsy

I didn't make it thru my endometrial biopsy a few years back...they started it and it was so painful after 15 seconds (the dialation) that I made them stop...I couldn't do it.
So instead, they sent me to the hospital and I had a paracervical block- which helped.

Biopsy

At my pre-op apptointment, he did an ultrasound, exam, then the awful biopsy, then I had to get blood drawn, no EKG for me, but I don't have any issues with my heart. I am a little worried why he decided to do the biopsy.

Thanks for your responses

Biopsy

Why don't you call the office and speak to a nurse and have her ask him why and she can call you back and tell you.

Biopsy

LOL - my pre-op said to allow for 2 hours - I was out of there in less than 30!

EKG to make sure my heart was still there and working...(they didn't do an EEG to see if my brain was there, so that's reassuring :-D); chat with an anesthetist, fill out questionnaire!

At my first Gyn appt, because the ultrasound had shown some fluid in my uterus, they did an endometrial biopsy to rule out cancer for sure - though all felt 99% that everything was benign.

I had never had that invasive a procedure - this is the only time before my surgery that I flipped out, all these weird things being done and I had always been healthy and my 2 lb fibroid had NEVER given me symptoms....etc

Nurse Trudy held my hand (my request!), and we chatted - then she said, "Here's where you SMILE!" I could feel that a core was being taken out of the uterus - it was REALLY uncomfy, but one of those 'smile and hold your breath and it will be over soon' kind of thing.

I was able to drive home NP but felt emotionally rattled. If you are like that, maybe have a friend waiting for you.

It was all over quick, and no biggie in hindsight.
