Re: Please help a newbie

I think your recovery time all depends on your overall health, type of surgery, your own pain tolerance, and not to mention the type of job you have. I am 46 and had the Davinci laproscopic surgery. I am very energetic and athletic. My kids are grown and gone. I took it easy for about a week and returned to work 13 days after surgery. I basically have a desk job. No heavy lifting and not on my feet all day. So, there are a few things to consider. I will say I was no longer in the pain I was in prior to surgery. I felt the relief from pain in recovery. At my 2 weeks checkup my dr. said I could return to my workouts and I did slowly work back into my routine. Here, I am at 8 weeks post-op and only thing is I am still spotting a little bit....Everyone is different and I would talk to your boss and listen to your dr. If dr. says your out for 6 weeks be out for 6 weeks. And hopefully you have someone lined up to help with the kids. Rest, Rest, Rest

Re: Please help a newbie

I had laproscopic vaginal hysterectomy. Removed uterus and endometriosis but I kept my ovaries. I was also very anemic but my Dr released me to go back to work after 2 weeks. I was still fatigued due to the anemia but my numbers were improving and I felt fine other than that. I do have a desk job. I was expecting 6 weeks as I thought that was the norm for any surgery. I guess it depends what you have done and how. Every person is going to recover differently. Hope your boss is understanding and you have speedy recovery.
