ecstatic princess home from castle!

Hey y'all, I am home sweet home, and boy what a difference a day makes. When I left here early Tues, I was shaking with low blood sugar and fear. All through the pre-op process I was crying, just leaking tears, and feeling like I was going to jump off the table and bolt down the hall. I'd been calm the day before, but being rolled into that operating room was too much!

A little upset, hon? the A-man asked? And before I could answer I was out, gone. I don't remember waking up in recovery at all. My surg was at a TVH at 8:30, and next thing I knew I was in my room and the clock said 1: p.m. A nurse asked me how was my pain, it wasn't bad really. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Not even close. It was mostly my back that hurt, from the stirrups and hard table they said. That day I had three Demerol shots. No morphine pump as I'd expected. I didn't get sick at all, just felt a little nauseated when I tried to eat the broth they brought me. Awful stuff. Stick with the jello. I slid in and out of sleep the rest of the day, so it's all a pleasant blur. I really don't remember much pain.

By that evening, I was given 2 percocets every four hours for pain. Worked wonderful. Helped me sleep. By the next morning I was up and walking around. IV out. Catheter out. More walking around. Passing gas came quickly, no problems. I was exhilerated it was over. My only obstacle was being able to pee, I wasn't able to go at first. But ran some warm water over my hand finally helped me let go. No problems since.

All in all, I was in such a fabulous mood the whole time that all the nurses remarked on it. My, aren't you a happy one. A number of them thanked me for the basket of candy, which I had one of them take out to the nurses station since they were ignoring it in my room.

Today I have taken only 2 percocet all day, a little tender, but still very little pain, moving around pretty easily. I feel so much better than I'd thought and dreaded! I feel not a lot different than I did after giving birth. So I am very glad I was able to have this done vaginally.

I feel so lucky that I have not had any complications so far. I am so glad I had this done. My path report showed adeno I didn't know I had along with the bunch of fibroids. Dr said it was a good thing we got it done before my uterus grew any larger.

I'd been so scared, afraid I would regret it, now am so relieved and happy that it's over! Maybe this all feel so easy because the waiting was so truly awful that the surgery can't help but seem a piece of cake.

Thanks for helping me through the worst part, hyster sisters!

Take care -

No regrets from this happy princess,

Teena

I'm so glad to hear it went well for you! My mother had very little pain too. She took the pills at the hospital but didn't need anything after that. The hospital staff was amazed! I hope that tolerance is genetic 'cause it would be nice for me too.

I wish you good health and happiness!

Congratulations on a smooth time crossing to the post-op side. Be sure to get plenty of rest so I don't have to send in the pillow police

Yaaaay, Princess Teena!

I've been hoping you'd post soon, but didn't expect it to be this fast! You sound fabulous. I am so very glad that your experience was so positive. And once again, I bet your words will be inspiring to the LIWs.

So, let the pampering begin!! You've earned it.

Oh Teena,

I'm happy for you that it is all over and it was a TVH. It's great that you didn't and the pain was not a number 10. It's over and now you can rest and recover.

It's so nice of you to let us know the details and how you feel about it. Thanks so much.

Rest now
