Hospital pre-op scheduled for 11/4

I was little startled when the nurse from the hospital called me for my hospital preop. lol. That couple of months from September to now has come up FAST. She said they would be doing a CBC, type & cross, EKG, urine sample, and my history.

Praying that my surgery doesn't get cancelled because I was diagnosed with Lupus at the beginning of October. Some of the tests coming back are showing it is affecting my kidneys (protein is high at 361 and creatine clearance is high -- means my kidneys are filtering properly, but it is at a mild stage.). my lungs, and my joints.

I can't believe I am up in a little over 2 weeks. Now I am getting nervous about afterwards.

I hope the new diagnosis doesn't effect your date, Sabrina. My fingers are crossed for ya!

My pre-op isn't until the 8th........

Be sure they are aware of the kidney results... I have psoriatic arthritis and diabetes and kidney function is the one thing EVERYONE (pcp, gyn, hospital) asked about. I have regular blood work due to the diabetes which includes kidney function and they looked good. Good Luck !

I figured he could handle the inflammation and swelling issues. I am guessing my lungs will be closely checked as well as my kidney function. I imagine I'll have to be giving a urine sample to be dipped while in the hospital? A friend of mine is a 1st year obgyn and another is a family practice doc. Both said they would be really surprised if he cancelled the surgery because the issues I have with my uterus are pretty significant. My friend that is the obgyn resident said that my kidneys while being affected is not severe. Just to make sure my ob knows about it.

Will be thinking of you Sabrina! I just had my Dr visit and scheduled my hysterectomy for the end of December... So I will have that long wait like you! I am not looking forward to all the pain over the next 2 weeks and hope it comes quickly like yours has...
