No post-op bleeding - out of the woods?

I had dVH on 1/9 with everything taken out including lymph nodes. I have never had any bleeding although I keep expecting it. I'm just wondering if others have gone this long and THEN started spotting (or more) or if I can quit wearing a pad "just in case?" Thanks!

I had LAVH, not DVH but I had no post op bleeding until the 4th week. Then it was only little streaks of blood. I have also had some other types of discharge but not enough to warrant wearing a pad.

I had everything removed on 1/10/12, and I have been wearing a panty liner just in case. I have had one spot. They say when the stitches start dissolving, that there is usually discharge. I'm going to keep wearing a panty liner.....just in case!!

Re: No post-op bleeding - out of the woods?

That's great that you aren't having any post op bleeding....HOWEVER...

You have many internal stitches that will probably start to dissolve around the 3 to 5 week mark. It is common for women to experience some bleeding when this happens. I would maybe wear a panty liner for awhile, just to be safe.

Maybe you will be lucky like me and have NO BLEEDING AT ALL!!!

I didn't have any spotting after 3 or 4 days, but kept wearing a thin pad just in case - I had them, figured I would use them. Plus, after bleeding so badly for so long it was hard to get used to the idea it was never going to happen again. I'm getting there
