Yeast Infection?

Is it still possbile to get a yeast infection after a TAH with ovaries removed? Has anyone had any experience with this?

I think it is possible to get a yeast infection anytime your body is under a lot of stress such as after major surgery. Also if you got any antibiotics you can be more prone to an infection. I know they gave me some IV antibiotic before my surgery b/c I heard the nurse mention she was hanging Ancef. I would call your doctor and see if you can get some Diflucan before it gets too bad. It's taken by mouth. I don't know about the creams we can't have anything down there.

Most definitely, yeast infections can be because of PH changes. Call your doctor do not take any of the over the counter medications. You are so early in your recovery you don't want anything internally. Plus they can make sure it's yeast and not bacterial.
