post hysterectomy 7 weeks - difficult recovery - is there a turning point?

Hello sisters, I am almost 8 weeks post op, I 've had enough and can see no end to this horrid experience. Nothing has gone to plan. I am sore internally and externally and finding sitting on hard surfaces agonizing.the pain goes through me internal. Cannot have intimacy with my husband. Please tell me I will feel normal in my under carriage again. Truly regret this hysterectomy. I post op 28 hours later had discovered a large internal bleed, no one would listen I was in dreadful pain, had low blood pressure, racing heart, and on oxygen. Lost 4 units of blood and had to have a blood transfusion. Just getting over internal infection had antibiotics. Went through menopause even though I kept my ovaries now taking HRT for past 3 weeks. Please sister's tell me there is a turning point. Most people are back to work by now, I'm signed off work for another month. I just want to go back to normal. HUGS & LOVE WOW WOW XXX

Re: post op 7 weeks - difficult recovery - is there a turning point?

I wish that I took another month off, as I was still having pain but the doc wouldn't sign me off. You had problems so it is good that you will get an extra month. My sister had 4 months off. Everyone is different in the healing area. There is light after the tunnel. Just be patient and calm. It will work itself out. The more stressed you get, the longer it will take.

Between the post-op bleed and the infection, you've had a few curve balls thrown at you. There's a very good reason that your recovery may take a bit longer than most people's, but you *will* eventually make it through. The extra four weeks you've got off work may make all the difference.

Good luck!
