We are so glad you joined us! This is the very best place to prepare for your upcoming surgery, recovery, and beyond!
If you are having a TVH, you won't have an external incision. All work will be done through the vagina. As for me, I didn't have any vaginal pain afterwards. I woke up in recovery with cramps, but after pain meds, that went away. The initial recovery is about 6 weeks. Since you don't have an external incision to remind you, you have to remember that it is major surgery with lots of stitches inside.
If you are a candidate for a TVH, I would recommend it. I am very pleased with the procedure in my own case. There are different types of hysterectomies and you can talk to your doctor about them and decide together what the best way is for you.
While you are waiting and doing some research, be sure to check out
Articles and Resources and
Checkpoints. You will find a description of the different types of hysterectomies as well as a lot of wonderful and helpful information.
Welcome again! Have a cup of tea and make yourself at home! We're glad you're here!
