Scar Tissue under belly incision
Hi Ladies-
I had a supracervical Hyst. in July (5 months ago) and just yesterday I started having tenderness and pain from my bellybutton. When I press on it i feel shooting pains through my abdomen. It also feels hard, like there is a ball, or multiple balls, underneath it, which i'm sure is scar tissue.
I called my doc. and they said it does sound like scar tissue and to use a heating pad and try massage to loosen it up a little.
I was rather shocked to be feeling this after 5 months but the RN said that it's not uncommom b/c it can take that long for the scar tissue to develop and that I might have done something to pull it a little.
I'm really frustrated b/c it hurts like nerve pain. If I walk down the stairs fast it hurts, just from that movement. I'm so scared that it won't go away.....I seriously can't stand to have another procedure and I really wanted to spend this time during the school break skiing with my little boy but it hurts too much.
Do any of you have thoughts or concerns?
I tried heat and massage but it didn't release any pain so far. I'll keep trying.
THanks,
Tfig

I know what you mean
I had my hysterectomy along with colon surgery in April, and I went back to the doctor in late September complaining about pain. I hear a "pop!" coming from within, which resulted in pain like I had just had the surgery. My doctor said that everything looked fine, so to just start taking some ibuprofren. I did take it for about a week, and it was the next month that I finally woke up thinking, "Things don't hurt anymore." I think the doctors were right. I just needed some more time to heal. My lower abdomen still is tender when my zipper hits it just right, and since more surgery would cause more scar tissue, I'm guessing it's just something that I'll have to learn to deal with. I do believe though in getting things checked out with the doctor , just so that I know what I'm feeling is normal. I hope you feel better soon!

scar tissue
Thanks a lot for your reply. It really does help me to know it's normal,or at least it happens. I've had so many surgeries for endo over the last 12 years that my poor belly button is probably all scarred over. Perhaps my OB would prescribe another round of massage therapy to help lossen it up....it worked for a lot of other ailments i had (pulled muscle) and sciatica.
The odd thing is that it feels like the scar tissue is literally almost at the surface under my belly button and it's really hard and doesn't move.
I was doing sit ups the other day so maybe that is what irritated it.....
Thanks again!
Let me know if any of you other ladies have had similar experiences.
