HELP!! Probably a ridiculous question....BUT

I am post-op day 5 from LVAH with both anterior/posterior repairs. My pain has been minimal and my bleeding has almost stopped. Today, though, I am feeling A LOT of vaginal pressure. I know it sounds ridiculous to say this, but i don't know how to describe it other than to say it feels like my vagina is falling out. On-call doc says its normal, but I'm freaking out. Anyone else experience this?!?

Re: HELP!! Probably a ridiculous question....BUT

Hi! Yes it's normal. It's about now that there is considerable swelling in the whole pelvis due to the surgical trauma. No matter which method was used. Some women describe it feeling like a stuck tampon. That will go on for a few weeks until the inflammation subsides. If you can take ibuprofen it's a good idea to take it regularly for it's anti-inflammatory action. Also some women report an external cold pack works to bring down some vaginal swelling. Just be sure to use a towel between the pack and your delicate groin tissue.

I just posted about this yesterday. To me it felt like something was stuck. I tried the frozen vegetables trick, and it worked beautifully. I had to use them again today after I'd been up for awhile.
