Hot Pack - Gas Fixes

Hey all, surgery (LSH) was monday and I think I'm doing pretty well with recovery. I've been getting up and walking laps around the house for about 5-10 minutes every 1-2 hours to get back into moving around and get some of this gas out.
I also got a call from the hospital and they said to use hot packs for my gas pains. So, I have this fleece bag that I filled w/ uncooked rice, some lavender and rose buds. It's really easy to make, and I heat it up for like 8-10+ minutes, cover it in towels and just place it on my belly. As it cools, I just remove towels and it provides nice heat for a while. I also have been using the Gas-X which helps a bit I think. Oh - AND I have been drinking hot tea made from gingerale and a tea bag.. that helps it seems with the shoulder pains.
I'm not back to eating a whole bunch, but I am trying to stay hydrated. I made a huge pot of rice the morning before surgery, so I have that to munch on during the day. I hope y'all are recovering nicely as well. I was so excited to wake up this morning and not wake up to my normal throbbing uterus pain, it was so cool. Sure I was sore from surgery, but gosh this is a cake walk compared to the embolization surgery!

When I had my last child I had a c-section and had HORRIBLE Gas pains. I had a wonderful nurse who would take those pad s they put under you in the bed and would wrap them around hot wet towels and lay them over my shoulders. She would the fix me a steaming hot cup of coffee and told me to drink it as hot as a could stand it. Then she would have me sit in a rocker and put my feet up on the side of the bed and rock. This worked like a champ. Luckily this time around a couple of gas-x and I was good to go.
