quick hello - 12 weeks

Hello to everyone, especially my Nov 14 sisters...

It's hard to believe that three months ago I was all about my surgery. I feel completely recovered now although I know there is still internal healing going on. Life without my uterus falling out is better. Boy, did I hate my recovery, though!!!

Hang in there ladies...the majority of you will wake up one day soon and your recovery will be (mostly) behind you, too.

Now my mom may be having a hysterectomy and I've posted on the "ovaries only" site to get some advice for her. If anyone had to make a decision about whether to keep their uterus when having ovaries removed post-menopause, I'd love to hear from you.

quick hello - 12 weeks

Hi Barbara!I had a hysterectomy due to a prolapsed uterus. I also had reoccurring cysts on my left ovary and requested that if i could have it removed..Ended up needing to be removed without my request because of scar tissue from the cysts! I am excited to see how life will be for me without my uterus!Sex life was awful, painful & bled afterward..My bowels werent working right..My abdomen area was always tender ..My periods were messing up. I had severe discharge i had to wear a pad all the time, i was tired all the time. Its amazing what a uterus can do to your body!
Good luck to you and I hope that everything goes well with your mother!I dont no about your question keeping the uterus and just taking the ovaries..I no that i kept one ovary..I no for the hormones it is a good thing but now im wondering if i will have to go thru another surgery later in life..I almost wished they would have just taken everything and be done with it?

quick hello - 12 weeks

hello fellow 12 weeker! Isn't life GREAT? I'm SO loving life right now pain free! Hard to believe it has been 12 weeks, sometimes it feels like another person prior to surgery, or another life....sometimes it feels like it was yesterday I had so many fears and feelings running through my head and body! Best decision I ever made and I stand my that today!

quick hello - 12 weeks

I couldn't agree more with you qed 123 and bonkers 101. I can't believe I waited so long to have surgery. I felt it was such a gamble with not much but a trade off of old symptoms for new ones at the end. I just didn't realize that recovery and surgical menopause would turn out so smoothly for me. (so far) It turned out to be the best decision I made. My life is soooo much easier pain free!

quick hello - 12 weeks

Hi ladies the 12 weeks went by quick and things are great. My recovery has gone very well I'm doing all the things I did before surgery. I'm glad I had the uterus and all the extras removed. Hope the other November sisters are doing great too.
