Each woman should be taking the amount ordered by her doctor regardless of how much anyone else is taking. Medications that are over the counter can have serious side effects if too much is taken. Please ask your doctor which medication is best for you and what dose you should be taking!

I took the amounts and times listed on the bottle. Fortunately, I was able to do just fine with extra strength tylenol and later ibuprofen. My surgeon had given me a scrip for tylenol 3, iron and a laxative in case I needed them - good thought!

You are best checking with your doctor, as Weiser said - even for advice on the OTC's! If they aren't working for you right now, you may need a prescription.

The less pain, the more energy your body has to heal with...so don't be a hero right now in the pain dept. :-)

I took extra-strength Tylenol, 2 every 4 hours, but they gave me a headache and made me sick to my stomach. I have a prescription for Tylenol #3, but I haven't filled it. I'm thinking of switching to Ibuprophen, is it true that they would relieve the swelling of the tummy?
