Sex: 6 weeks vs 8 weeks

OMG, wow. I've never heard of that. It sounds incredibly painful! Hope things are better now!

I had my 6 week post-op this morning and got the "all clear". DH and I decided weeks ago we were probably still going to wait a couple of weeks longer anyway. We're both pretty apprehensive about it.

Wow. My doctor did say we could proceed at 6 weeks. We only did it once and will wait now I think. May I ask? What happened when the cuff broke through. How did you know? By bleeding or the doctor checking you? And did you end up back in the OR??? Believe me I do not want that. Or does it just mend on its own? It seems we should be waiting alot longer than 6 weeks.

Yes, please do... hunny and I had plans for this evening... now I'm getting nervous again!

My doctor said 6 weeks, he also gave me a little test to try before we went ahead with intercourse... stand on my heals and jump up and down, if my insides don't "jiggle" and i don't hurt then i am safe to go ahead, he also said that i should be the one in '"control" (my hubby was thrilled by this news) and if it starts to hurt or is uncomfotable to stop. i saw my doctor this week for my 6 week post up and she told me to wait at least 2 more because i still have some stitches. better safe than sorry. and like some of the other women say, you can still do other things.

Oh dear, maybe I should wait! I'd like to know what happened also 'someoneelse'. I'm so sorry that happened and hope you are ok now. I also wonder if I should have my dr check me at 8 weeks too. He saw me at 3, said wait til 8 weeks and see you in a year. It seems like they would want to be sure we are healed before giving us the chance to undo all their hard work!

At eight weeks I had vaginal cuff deschesence. I ended up in the OR. I had SEVERE pain and some bleeding. They had to put me upside down to make the repair. The whole thing was very traumatic. It has now been six weeks since the deschesence. We can try again, but now I don't think I am ready. We have done external stimulation and even that caused intense pain.

To the lady who's doctor told her to jump up and down, wow, I wish I had know that. I had jumped on a frozen water bucket ro break the ice and could feel things jiggling around. I still feel things moving as I bounce (I had to try it as I am writing this).

I am going on my honeymoon 8 weeks post-op. We got married and waited until after the surgery to go away because my son was healing from 2 knee surgeries! I better be ok at 8 weeks or I will be very sad!

You are ALL lucky... I had Davinci total Hysterectomy and my doctor is making me wait 9 weeks! I am just 4 weeks out and know that the next 5 are going to take FOREVER... but I will do what I have to:-( He told me we'd have to wait 9 weeks before I even had the surgery.....
