Surgery was a success now in the road to recovery. ? about hormone patch

My davinci surgery was today. Just a few hours ago. My doctor and i discussed not doing hrt for a while but when i woke up in recivery they had put a hormone patch on me. When my nurse came in this evening to replace it I asked her to check who ordered it. She sais it was the PA not my gyn. So i asked her to hold off until i could talk to my doc. Is that just standard protocal? The patch i mean?

That is usually ordered by the surgeon after you have a discussion with them and agree on which direction you want to go with HRT. I don't know about a PA just doing this on their own. Sounds like some miscommunication or assumptions going on. You should discuss with your surgeon asap. Or your GP. Whoever you have chosen to take the lead in helping you with this issue.
